Are you feeling the thud of landing back at work after Summer? How are you coping?
As a career change coach, I’m speaking to lots of people now who are experiencing the hard slap of reality after six weeks of sunshine and procrastination.
It’s all too easy to put off tough career decisions with the distractions of holidays, barbecues and family time.
What to do if you’re finding yourself back in that familiar rut of career dissatisfaction?
Stop beating yourself up for inaction. It’s okay to have given yourself a breather over the Summer to recharge your batteries and clear your head.
Take things step by step: Career change can feel like a massive undertaking, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed unless you break it down into manageable stages. As the proverb goes, “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!”.
Get help. In my 10+ years of coaching hundreds of people through career change, one thing is clear: it’s tough to do alone. Having someone as an accountability partner, coach, or cheerleader can make all the difference.
How are you finding your rhythm again after the Summer break?
